Getting Started with Relay for Mac
Relay is a Mac dashboard app for live production teams. You can build a custom dashboard with tiles for people, rundowns, wireless devices, timers, webpages, documents, audio levels, transcription, and production integrations.
What You Can Do
- Build dashboards on a flexible canvas.
- Add modules for Planning Center, ProPresenter, Resolume, Shure wireless, SPL metering, live transcription, webpages, documents, and more.
- Switch into Live Mode when the dashboard is ready for production use.
- Use Automation View to connect triggers, actions, and destinations.
- Share or mirror dashboard tabs across your local network.
First Setup
- Open Relay on your Mac.
- Create a new dashboard or open an existing
.relayfile. - Add a tile from the toolbar.
- Add one or more modules to the tile.
- Open Relay > Settings to configure integrations, external devices, OSC, MIDI, LAN sharing, and permissions.
- Use Live Mode when you are ready to operate the dashboard during an event.
Common Terms
- Dashboard: The full Relay document saved as a
.relayfile. - Tab: A page inside a dashboard.
- Canvas: The workspace where tiles are arranged.
- Tile: A movable/resizable container on the canvas.
- Module: Content inside a tile, such as Planning Center, Time, Webpage, or Shure Wireless.
- Live Mode: A focused operating mode that limits editing and enables live modules.
- Automation View: A node-based view for connecting triggers, actions, and destinations.
