Using Canvas View

Canvas View is where you build and arrange your dashboard.

Open Canvas View

Choose View > Canvas View or press Command+1.

What Canvas View Is For

• Add, move, resize, and arrange tiles.
• Build dashboards visually before an event.
• Add guides and align content.
• Use grid snapping for precise layouts.
• Group related tiles.

Canvas Controls

• Snap to Grid: Choose View > Snap to Grid or press Option+Command+G.
• Show Guides: Choose View > Show Guides or press Command+;.
• Resize Dashboard Canvas: Choose Edit > Resize Dashboard Canvas....
• Bring All Tiles Into Canvas: Choose Edit > Bring All Tiles Into Canvas if tiles end up outside the visible canvas.

Tips

Use Canvas View for setup and editing. Use Live Mode during production.

If a tile seems missing, use Bring All Tiles Into Canvas.

Adding and Editing Tiles

Tiles are containers on your dashboard canvas. A tile can hold one module or a stack of multiple modules.

Add a Tile

1. Open Canvas View.
2. Click the add tile control in the toolbar.
3. Place the tile on the canvas.
4. Add a module to the tile.

Select and Move Tiles

1. Click a tile to select it.
2. Drag it to move it.
3. Use grid snapping if you want consistent alignment.

TIP: Holding Shift while moving tiles will snap it to the grid

Resize a Tile

1. Select a tile.
2. Drag its resize handle or open the tile size controls.
3. Adjust the width and height.

TIP: Holding Shift while resizing tiles will resize to the grid

Edit Tile Appearance

1. Select a tile.
2. Open the inspector.
3. Adjust background color, opacity, corner radius, padding, and module layout.

Duplicate or Delete Tiles

• Duplicate: Choose Edit > Duplicate Tile or press Command+D.
• Delete: Select a tile and press Delete.

Group Tiles

1. Select multiple tiles.
2. Choose Edit > Group Selected Tiles... or press Command+G
3. Name or adjust the group as needed.

Adding Modules to a Tile

Modules are the content blocks inside Relay tiles. A single tile can contain one or more modules.

Add a Module

1. Select a tile.
2. Open the add module menu.
3. Choose a module.
4. Configure the module in the inspector.

Available Module Categories

• People & Planning: Planning Center, Person
• Wireless: Shure, Sennheiser in beta/debug builds
• Audio: SPL Meter, Live Transcription
• Video & Playback: ProPresenter
• Utility: Text, Image, Picker, Document, Webpage, Time, Timecode, Separator, Button

NOTE: Relay is constantly updating so this module list is not comprehensive.

Pro Modules

Some modules require Relay Pro. If a module is locked, upgrade or activate a Pro license before using it.

Tips

Use separate tiles when you want independent positioning. Use multiple modules in one tile when content should stay visually grouped.
