Using Automation View

Automation View is Relay's node-based workspace for connecting triggers, actions, utilities, and destinations.

Open Automationg View

Choose View > Automation View or press Command+2.

Node Types

  • Triggers: Start an automation, such as OSC Receive, MIDI Receive, Time, dB Threshold, wireless status, Manual Trigger, Planning Center, or Word Trigger.
  • Actions: Do something in Relay or on the network, such as Show Notification, Send LAN Notification, In-App Action, MIDI Send, OSC Send, ProPresenter, or Send to All Consoles.
  • Destinations: Send data or commands to consoles, Shure devices, or Sennheiser devices.
  • Utilities: Delay or Repeater nodes.

Create an Automation

  1. Open Automation View.
  2. Add a trigger node.
  3. Add an action or destination node.
  4. Drag from the trigger output to the target node.
  5. Configure each node's settings.
  6. Test the trigger or action before using it live.

Tips

Keep automations small at first. Test one trigger and one action before adding delays, repeaters, or multiple destinations.
