# ProPresenter integration: live slide status in Relay

> Link Relay to a running ProPresenter instance to display live slide and presentation status on your dashboard.

The ProPresenter integration lets Relay talk directly to a running ProPresenter instance on your network. Once connected, a ProPresenter module can show current and next slides, presentation name, timer data, and other live state.

## What the integration provides

* Current and next slide status (slide numbers come from ProPresenter's slide index, and disabled slides are counted correctly in group ranges)
* Slide text or thumbnail previews
* Presentation name and arrangement data
* Timer or message data
* ProPresenter action nodes in Automation View

## Add a connection profile

1. Open `Relay > Settings`.
2. Select <Icon icon="link" /> **External Connections**.
3. Select `ProPresenter`.
4. Add a profile with the correct host, port, and credentials if needed.
5. Save and confirm the connection succeeds.

Credentials for a ProPresenter profile are stored in the macOS Keychain, not in the dashboard file itself — so a `.relay` file can be shared without exposing a saved password, but a profile's credentials won't automatically travel with it to another Mac.

## Add the ProPresenter module

1. Select a tile.
2. Add the ProPresenter module.
3. Choose the saved profile.
4. Set the display mode that matches the data you want to show.

## Best practices

* Name profiles clearly so operators know which machine they're targeting.
* Confirm both apps are on the same network as the Mac running Relay.
* Test the module view before relying on it in Live Mode.

## Troubleshooting

### ProPresenter will not connect

Check the host or IP address, port, password or token if required, Local Network permission on macOS, and whether ProPresenter network control is enabled.

### The ProPresenter module is blank

Confirm the profile is selected, ProPresenter has an active presentation, and the chosen display mode matches what ProPresenter is currently providing.
