# Fly Box scanner

> Scan flies, review classifications, and manage your fly-box inventory.

Rivr's Fly Box scanner can classify fly patterns from a photo and help you keep an inventory of your box.

## Scan a fly

1. Open **Fly Boxes**.
2. Choose **Capture Photo** or **Choose Photo from Library**.
3. Review the suggested pattern and category.
4. Correct the name when Rivr gets it wrong, then save the item to your box.

Scan photos are processed on-device by Rivr's Core ML classifier. Good lighting, a single centered fly, and a simple background generally produce the clearest result.

## Correct a result

Treat the classification as a suggestion. Use the correction controls to choose the pattern name that best matches your fly. Your correction stays useful even when you do not opt in to help improve fly identification.

## Optional improvement sharing

If you opt in under **Settings → Help Improve Fly ID**, Rivr sends a small cropped photo of the fly and the pattern name you chose. It does not send your location, account details, or a full photo of your box. Uploads are limited to Wi-Fi.

You can stop new uploads immediately. You can also request deletion of photos already sent from Rivr's servers; a model that has already learned from a photo cannot be made to forget it.
