# Quickstart

> Add your first water and learn the Rivr dashboard.

## Add a location

1. Open Rivr and choose **Find Rivers to Follow**.
2. Search by river, dam, reservoir, or gauge name.
3. Select a result to preview its available telemetry and regulations.
4. Tap **Add location** to save it to your dashboard.

Your saved locations appear as dashboard cards. Reorder or remove them from **Edit Locations**.

## Read a dashboard card

Depending on the location, a card may show current flow, stage or reservoir level, generation information, weather, and a condition score. The card also shows when its data was last updated.

Tap a card for the full detail view, including the condition explanation, fishing recommendations, species information, and regulations when available.

## Start with the detail view

The detail view is organized around three questions:

* What is the water doing right now?
* Is it safe and practical for my chosen method?
* What should I try first?

Use the recommendation as a starting point, then adapt to what you see on the water.
