Actions are the endpoints of your automation graphs. They receive signals from triggers and execute commands.

System & LAN Notifications

Keep your team informed.
  • Setup: Add the node and define the message text.
  • Features: Notify displays a standard macOS banner. LAN Notification broadcasts an alert to other Relay instances connected on your local network, displaying it directly over their dashboard.

In-App Action

Control Relay itself as part of an automation, instead of an external device.
  • Setup: Add the node and pick one command.
  • Available commands: Select First / Previous / Next / Last Tab, Refresh Planning Center, Resync Device Names (consoles and wireless), Clear SPL Meters, Clear Live Transcript, Switch to Canvas View, Switch to Automation View, Enter / Exit / Toggle Live Mode, Save Dashboard, Save Dashboard As, and Start / Stop / Toggle SPL Logging.
  • Features: Useful for building a single “Pre-Service Setup” or “Go Live” sequence that flips Relay itself into the right state — enter Live Mode, jump to tab one, refresh Planning Center — without an operator touching anything.

HTTP Request

Integrate with almost any web service.
  • Setup: Define the URL, method (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, or DELETE), headers, and body content.
  • Features: Triggers web endpoints or APIs. Useful for custom webhooks, triggering IFTTT/Zapier flows, or controlling smart home devices that don’t have a dedicated Relay integration.

ProPresenter Trigger

Control your presentation software remotely.
  • Setup: Link the node to your configured ProPresenter connection.
  • Features: Trigger specific slides, clear layers (audio, video, props), or start/stop timers without leaving Relay.

Protocol Sends

Communicate with standard show control protocols.
  • OSC Send: Transmits an OSC message to a target IP and port (defaults to 9000) at a given address. Define the address path and arguments. OSC sending was improved in Relay 1.2.2.
  • MIDI Send: Sends a MIDI message to a connected MIDI destination — Note On/Off, Program Change, Control Change, or raw SysEx, depending on the message kind you choose.

Console

Control a connected audio console. This is a destination node — link it to one of your configured console devices, and the node exposes that console’s own action set.
  • Setup: Select a configured audio console from External Devices. Multiple Console nodes can point at the same physical device if you want independent routing paths for different parts of a graph. The node also has a Test control to fire the current configuration once by hand, separate from automated triggering.
  • Auto-send binding: A console node can be bound to a trigger so that channel assignments or snapshots are sent automatically whenever that trigger fires, instead of only on request.
  • Capability gating: Relay checks that anything linked into a console node is actually usable by that console model. An incompatible link — for example, a Planning Center source feeding a console that can’t rename channels — shows as a red-ring “Incompatible links” warning directly on the node instead of failing silently at runtime.
  • Standard Console Actions: Behringer X32/M32, Yamaha DM7/Rivage, and Allen & Heath consoles support scene recall, mute, level, and pan directly — no third-party bridge required.
  • Allen & Heath Qu actions: Scene Recall, Soft Key, Channel Mute, Channel Level, Channel Pan, Mix Assign, Send Level, Group Level, Group Mute, FX Send Level, FX Return Level — sent over MIDI.
  • DiGiCo actions: Mute, Solo, Fader, and Recall Macro — sent over OSC, addressable across input, aux, group, matrix, and control-group channel types. DiGiCo doesn’t support true scene recall; snapshot actions create or rename snapshots rather than firing a stored scene. Relay sends to the console’s OSC receive port (default 9000) and listens for replies on its own local port (default 8000). “Sync from DiGiCo” channel-name discovery scans up to 256 input channels, 128 aux outputs, 128 group outputs, 64 matrix outputs, and 64 control groups by default.
  • Send to All Consoles: A separate action node that sends assignments and/or snapshots to every connected console at once, with an optional stagger between sends.

Wireless

Send control commands to a connected wireless receiver.
  • Setup: Select a configured Shure or Sennheiser device — each brand is its own action node.
  • Features: Mute or unmute a channel and adjust other supported per-channel settings without leaving the automation graph.

Smart Light Control Beta

Control your environment’s lighting.
  • Setup: Connect to a supported smart light bridge on your network. Requires Relay Pro.
  • Features: Set colors, adjust brightness, or recall scenes on Philips Hue or Govee devices as part of any automation flow. See Smart lights for the full guide.

Vista Beta

Trigger your Vista lighting/show system.
  • Setup: Connect to a supported Vista device.
  • Features: Export cue lists and trigger basic Vista OSC commands directly from Relay. See Vista for the full guide.
