Rivr is designed to work offline-first. Fly-box scans run locally on the device, and Rivr does not track or share your location as a background activity.
Hydrological data
Rivr aggregates public telemetry from sources including the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CWMS, where available. Weather information is provided through Apple Weather.
Telemetry can be delayed, recalibrated, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. Rivr’s condition summaries and wadeability ratings are informational guidance only.
Fly identification contributions
Fly-identification sharing is optional. When enabled, Rivr sends only a cropped fly image and the pattern name you selected. It does not send location, account details, or full box photos. See Fly Box scanner for controls and deletion behavior.
Account and sync
When account sync is available, saved locations and other supported preferences may be synchronized so they can be restored across devices. Local data and cached telemetry remain on the device until you clear them or remove the app.
Rivr is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Government, USGS, USACE, SWPA, Apple, or any state wildlife agency.
