Rivr combines public hydrological telemetry with weather and location-specific context to summarize current fishing conditions.
Field note
A reading is a snapshot, not a promise. Use the update time, the explanation behind the score, and your own observations together.
Flow and stage
- Flow is commonly shown in cubic feet per second (CFS). It describes how much water is moving past a gauge.
- Stage describes the water level at a gauge. Stage values are meaningful in the context of that particular gauge and river reach.
- Generation describes a release schedule or release trend where dam data is available.
These measurements are not interchangeable. A flow value from one gauge should not be treated as the flow at every access point downstream.
Condition scores
Rivr’s condition score is an informational summary based on the data available for that location and fishing method. The detail view explains the main reasons behind the score, such as unusually high flow, low visibility, temperature, or a recent change in conditions.
Scores are not guarantees of fish activity and should not be used as a safety clearance.
Data freshness
Each card and detail view indicates when its readings were updated. Public telemetry can be delayed, recalibrated, or temporarily unavailable. If a reading looks stale or inconsistent with what you see at the water, treat the on-site observation and official warnings as more current.
Weather
Weather information helps explain temperature, wind, precipitation, and light conditions around the location. Weather is one input to the recommendation, not a substitute for checking the forecast and conditions before leaving.
